INTERVIEW to MINA

Hi Mina. Welcome in AFX.

What first inspired you to make music?

I have always been drawn to music. I remember very early on listening to the radio as a child and singing along. That’s what really got the ball rolling. It’s been quite a journey of discovering different types of music in my life. Still as a child being fascinated by musicals such as Grease and then starting with vocal lessons a little girl.

How do you come up with ideas for new songs?
I draw from personal experiences but always try to paint it in a bigger picture because I feel my experiences are also other peoples experiences as they are mainly focused on love, connection and society. I always hope that listeners feel heard by it and can apply it to their own experiences.

What would you say is your greatest strength as a singer/Artist?

I rather leave that to the listener to decide. My hope is, that they feel something from hearing my music and that it touches something within their soul.

How would you define success in music?

There are certainly different definitions of success. Of course commercial success means an artist can actually make music for a living which is the dream but success is also someone telling me that my music means a lot to them and that it helped them get through a tough time or made them happy.

If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would you choose?

Dead or alive? Haha ummm too many to name. But if I can choose then…at the moment it would be Sasha Keable or Justin Nozuka - they are incredible artists.

Are you working on any new music or planning anything exciting that we can look forward to?

Yes I am currently working with different producers and I am very excited to hopefully share new music next year. I have no idea where this journey will take me but I am in awe of the gifted people I get to work with right now.

Would you like to share anything else about yourself or your music with our readers?

I hope they enjoy listening to the music and that they experience it with touch of self reflection and that they let all the emotions happen. Always happy when people reach out of course and want to chat about it! I am so grateful for each and everyone of them! It’s easy to forget sometimes as an artist why we started making music. Especially when you get caught up in the all the industry bs about stats and streams and all of that. It’s supposed to be fun and authentic to share a piece of me with anyone who listens. I can promise them, no one will ever know more about me than the people who listen closely.
