GOODCRY - Low

There’s nothing ordinary about goodcry. For a start, he’s a Californian living in Canada… he’s also a talented creative making music that feels as unique and authentic as him. ‘Low’ is the project’s debut release, a hypnotising and quirky blend of lo-fi, indie and hyper-pop elements. The result is a record that feels familiar, yet incredibly innovative. Channelling noisy drum machines, sweeping synthetisers and icy guitars, the track provides a modulating and playful framework for goodcry’s loud and autotune’s filled vocals, rich and bright.

Inspired by the likes of Circa Waves, The Kooks, MGMT, and The Killers, the project is actively taking pop formulas and applying them to more nuanced sonic matter. It works incredibly well: ‘Low’ is one of the most peculiar offerings we have heard this year.

Lyrically, the song focuses on reminiscing a past relationship that didn’t really pan out. Set to release a single every month for the rest of the year, it is clear that goodcry is on a glorious path to success. Stay tuned!
